chapter 3
Once again, hello diary. I decided to continue writing this, however Jane prepared lunch for us so I had to take a break. The food was awful. Anyways, this whole thing started because of that legend, and I will now write everything that I experienced from the start to the finish.
It was a lovely day, it was my 12th birthday. It was a hot summer day in July, I was reading the newspaper while I was drinking my hot cup of coffee, I kept fantasizing about the 5 heroes and the legend, whishing one day I become like then, I spent solid 2 hours drawing their faces and figures and me beside them, I always looked up to them. I was looking at the sky trying to imagine them, it hurt me when I heard they disappeared, I kept thinking and thinking until I heard a knock on the door. I got up only to realize my friends paid me a visit to wish me a happy birthday.
‘Happy birthday!’ Sofija and Lara shouted in one voice.
‘Wow what a surprise, it thought you will come up with a better plan this year’ I laughed
‘Well, we actually did!’ Lara said
‘What exactly?’ I said. I was full of curiosity, desperate to know what plans my two best friends had.
‘We’re all flying to New York together!’ Sofija screamed in my face and hugged me. I was ready to explode from happiness but I was concerned about something more important I read in the daily newspaper
Weird UFO flying to earth with an extreme speed
A UFO was caught in space flying towards earth in an extreme speed, it is expected to crash into earth within 5 hours. NASA still cannot identify if it’s an alien ship or just a meteor, but for now on we do now we’re in danger. We will inform you if we get access to a deeper information about this phenomenon on our TV News Program.
‘That’s great!’ I said, my fear was quickly noticed by my friends as I let out the words out of my mouth. ‘What’s wrong? You sound weird, is something bothering you?’ Lara said. There was a dead silence for 5 minutes until I got the courage to show them the newspaper.
‘Ah Sara, you don’t seriously believe in that? It’s just nonsense!’ Sofija smiled, trying to comfort me. I thanked them and went in my room to pack for our trip to America, we were leaving in 3 days.
I can’t quite remember what happened those 3 last days in London, probably because I spent them doing nothing, just worrying. The day has came for us to leave for New York City, I remember it clearly, I was sitting at the Air Port playing a dumb game on my phone until a tall woman sat exactly next to me. It was weird, she was really suspicious, in fact there were over 20 empty seats and yet she chose to sit next to me. She had medium-shot black hair and a weird smile on her face.
She looked at me and asked ‘Are you Sara Tomic?’.
I got really worried despite she knew my name and probably who I was. ‘Yes, I am Sara, is there a problem?’ I kindly asked, trying to be polite.
‘I’m afraid yes, and I need you to help me fight it’ she said. I was confused, I had no idea what to say and I just kept my mouth shut until I realized who it was.
‘Addyln? You’re alive? Are the other 4 alive too? What is happening? Is the UFO thing I read on the newspaper real?’
I had so many questions, I asked them right away giving Addyln no time to answer them until she patted me on my shoulder and softly said ‘It’s going to be fine, but I’m afraid you need to leave your 2 friends here and come with us’.
‘No way! I’m not leaving them here to die!’ I shouted
Everyone on the Air Port looked at me with a confused face, luckly my friends were too busy buying the ticket s they didn’t hear me.
‘Who said they will die? We will save the world and we need you.’ Cried she
‘Why do you need me?’ I fought back
‘After Kristina died in the crash, we had no one else to lead us, we need you because we know that you’re capable of that!’ She said, ready to cry her eyes out. I was shocked to hear her words, I was left with an open mouth staring at her sad face.
‘Then please… take Sofija and Lara with us! I beg you!’ I pled and pled.
She nodded and whispered ‘okay’.
I was happy for a moment, my dream finally came true, and yet I was scared to death, I wasn’t expecting this, I wasn’t. I sat and looked at my feet, I thought about everything that could happen giving my best to stay optimistic. All I could hear was people walking around and talking, talking in languages I couldn’t understand, however that moment the big TV screen in the hall got turned on, it was automatically on the News TV program, the stress inside of my got increased as I heard the following lines:
What appears to be an alien space ship is attacking earth, as expected from NASA the UFO is about to crash into earth or at least land on it. It seems to be invading, the US military is trying to find a way to destroy it, scientists believe it will be hard to defeat them. Everyone stay cal- - - - the signal got worse, all I could hear is white noise, on the TV there was a video clip of a big space ship above the sky.
‘It’s too late’ I said, Addyln turned to me
